The North Dakota Section of the American Water Works Association was formally organized in 1991. Previous to this time we were part of what was called the North Central Section of the American Water Works Association. The purpose of the North Dakota Section of the American Water Works Association is for scientific and educational purposes.
To increase member engagement and participation by finding champions at applicable education institutions.
To increase the visibility of the Section, and the water industry, in North Dakota.
To organize and deliver content for utilities to use in their public engagement.
To develop an onboarding program and materials for new members.
To work in partnership to create a more resilient workforce.
AWWA Mission and Vision
The American Water Works Association is dedicated to the promotion of public health and welfare in the provision of drinking water of unquestionable quality and sufficient quantity. AWWA must be proactive and effective in advancing the technology, science, management, and government policies relative to the stewardship of water.
