Public Works Supervisor - Water Treatment Plant, City of Fargo Closing Date: September 29, 2017. EOE

The City of Fargo is seeking a Public Works Supervisor for our Water Treatment Plant. This position supervises activities and a staff of operators for the City’s Water Treatment Plant. The position is responsible for all operations issues for all plant equipment and systems including the high service pump building, the raw water building, Ground Storage Reservoir (including transmission pipeline, storage tank, back-up power generator, and pumping station), Sheyenne River Pump Station (including intake, pump station, and transmission line),elevated water storage tanks, back-up power generators, etc. A high school diploma or its equivalent (G.E.D.) and six or more years of progressively responsible experience in performing public works projects or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, a valid driver’s license and a valid State of North Dakota Grade 4 Water Plant Operator Certificate required. An Associates degree in water/wastewater treatment is preferred. $29.16 to $30.92/hour. DOE, plus benefits. Employment contingent upon successful background check, pre-placement medical evaluation and drug screen.

Water Production Coordinator - Lime Softening Plant, City of Fargo Closing Date: October 11, 2017. EOE

The City of Fargo is seeking a Water Production Coordinator with emphasis in the Lime Softening plant for our Water Treatment Plant. This position performs various activities to optimize water treatment processes related to water quality, operations costs, and overall workflow for the Lime Softening Water Treatment Plant. Toward this goal of optimization and efficiency, this position coordinates with others and performs functions in several areas of water system operation: operations, maintenance, laboratory, instrumentation, and control. Position is responsible for investigating new approaches, studying and analyzing process and performance data, and implementing ideas where the benefit/cost ratio is favorable. This position will train and mentor others in the water utility and assist other City personnel when help is necessary. Position will facilitate the implementation of changes within the water utility or those recommended by City Administration, including new software, regulatory programs, policy changes, and technical advances in water system operation. At least one year of accredited technical training in the operation of water treatment processes and five or more years of previous experience in the operation and maintenance of pumps, motors and related machinery; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job is required. A valid driver’s license and a North Dakota Grade 4 Operator's Certificate are also required. $29.16 to $30.92/hour. DOE, plus benefits.
